Embracing Open Source: My First Speaker Experience at FOSSConf

Hey folks,

I recently had the incredible opportunity to present my first-ever talk at FOSSConf, a gathering of passionate Open Source advocates. The event took place on November 26, 2023, at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), where I shared insights on Kubernetes Services.

My talk revolved around illuminating how Kubernetes manages networking and the pivotal role services play in enabling application communication within a cluster. You can check out the slides for my talk !

I was a little nervous for this one but everything went well. I am lucky I got an amazing audience of young Open Source enthusiasts. Some of them were not familiar with the technology and some really knew there way around K8s, it was a challenge to make sure everyone got something out of the session.

I'm genuinely grateful for the thoughtful questions posed by the audience. Witnessing newcomers' interest piqued in Kubernetes and cloud-native technology was truly fulfilling. If I've managed to ignite curiosity and inspire exploration into the world of open source and cloud-native tech among even a few attendees, I consider it a remarkable success.

Yet, beyond the talk itself, what truly enriched my experience was the opportunity to connect with such an incredible community of like-minded individuals. Interacting with fellow speakers and attendees was an absolute pleasure, and I'm honoured to have shared the stage with them. Kudos to the FOSSConf Organisers for organising this awesome conference.Their efforts created an environment ripe for learning, sharing, and fostering meaningful connections.
